Shared Care Agreements

As part of the British Medical Association (BMA) GP collective action, Chingford Medical Practice has currently decided not to engage in shared care agreements. This decision is part of a collective effort to address the challenges faced by general practices and to advocate for a more sustainable and supportive working environment for GPs. Shared care agreements are not part of the core contractual obligations outlined in the General Medical Services (GMS) contract for GPs. The GMS contract primarily covers essential services that GPs are required to provide to their registered patients.

Please be assured that this situation may change in the future, depending on the outcomes of the April 2025 GP contract negotiations and whether the collective action will continue. We remain committed to providing the best possible care within the scope of our current capabilities.

We appreciate your understanding and patience during this time. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this decision may cause and encourage the specialist clinic to continue prescribing and monitoring and specialist medications.
